4 Types of Friends Every Girl Needs!

As girls, we are like emotional volcanoes waiting to erupt.  It’s not our fault, that just how we are born.  Then at some point we get our periods and we can multiply our emotions times 100.  No matter what we are feeling, we most often display it way over the top.  And we all need friends to erupt to.  So, throughout my life, I have learned that I have four types of friends and every girl should too! Now, one friend may have 2 characteristics, and that’s fine too! However, if you are missing one of these friends in your life, I recommend putting an ad on Craig’s List!

Friend # 1: The Friend Who Smacks You Back Into Reality!

Everyone needs a friend who will smack you right back into reality when your craziness has you so far disconnected from reality that you are somewhat delusional.  She’s the friend who is there for you no matter what, but most definitely does not tell you what you want to hear, but rather, what you Need to Hear!  She is also the friend who can objectively look at your situation, remove herself from it, and then tell you that you are being a freaking drama queen and to get over yourself!  She is also the friend you call to double-check your thought-out solution to make sure, it is indeed, actually, an appropriate solution!  This is also the friend that will ask you what they hell you’ve been eating lately! Wooo Girl, those pants give you muffin-top!

Friend #2: The Friend Who Has Your Back!

Every girl needs this friend.  She’s the friend that no matter if you are right or wrong, if she agrees with you or not, will have your back.  She will stand behind the paddy wagon that you are locked up in and beg the police to take her with you so that you’re not alone in lock-up. She’s also the friend who, after the situation is resolved, will tell you that if you ever get her in that situation again, she will smack you silly!  She is also the friend who tells you that you like fine, that you don’t look like you gained an ounce.  She is also the one who helps you zip your pants while you’re holding them together, laying upside down on the bed!

Friend #3: The Friend Who Makes You Laugh Til It Hurts!

She’s the friend who can let things roll off her back and laugh at most situations.  She’s the one you can call on Tuesday night because you’re kids are making you crazy and go hang out in her refurbished, bar-like garage.  She will spend hours catching up with you, telling you the most hilarious stories and frequently quoting Lisa Laprinelli.  You then have to go to the restroom to get some tissue because you are crying from laughter.  Everybody needs her!

Friend #4: The Friend Who Always Get’s You In Trouble!

Yep, there is always one in the bunch, but without her, life would not be as nearly as exciting.  She’s the one who was on “forever punishment” as a kid.  She takes all the risks, making your nearly crap your pants when you are with her.  She’s the one your parents told you that you were not allowed to hang out with because she’s also the one who introduced you to beer, guys and staying out past curfew.  Now that your adults, she is still a very exciting person to be around and will push you to do things you would not normally do. 

Friendship is a gift and our lives would not be the same without friends!  Don’t ever forget to tell you friends, no matter how many miles divide you, that they are what make you who you are today!

So, to Tracy, Angelica, Kelly, Kelly, Angela, Jerry, Betty, Diane, Annie and my newest friend Amber, I dedicate this to you!  You have all been an intregal part of my life, making my life awesome and you have all helped be become the person I am today.  Which, is cooler than you, prettier than you, smarter than you, braver and stronger than you.  However, not skinner than you – but that will soon change! haha – Hugs and Kisses!
